Langara Island, British Columbia

Langara Island is the proverbial crown jewel of the Queen Charlotte Islands. Its salmon-rich waters are unsurpassed, but it’s not a place where many can get to by themselves. Langara Fishing Adventures was the first to make this incredible fishery accessible to sport anglers and they continue to set the standard by which all others are judged.

Nestled in Henslung Cove on the southerly tip of the island, the 160-foot floating Langara Fishing Lodge exudes all the character and rugged charm of a far-north fishing lodge. Within minutes of the world’s best salmon fishing it is able to accommodate up to 65 guests and has welcomed the world’s rich and famous. But you don’t have to be rich or famous to be treated like royalty by the always enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. They attend to every detail both on the water and off the water.

No matter the time of year or weather conditions there are always protected and calm waters nearby teeming with salmon. All five species of Pacific salmon hang out around Langara, but most anglers come here in search of big chinook, and 50- and 60-pound Tyees are caught here every year. But don’t overlook the big northern coho. These slab sided acrobats range from 15- to 20 pounds with regularity and fish over 20 pounds are not out of the question.

Just like the fishing and scenery the food at Langara Fishing Lodge is amazing. Prepared by professional chefs, including Executive Chef Jean Peeters, who has close to 20 years of experience at Langara Lodge, you will be treated to full five-course meals with as many as eight entrée choices, all accompanied by a selection of complementing fine wines. Your fish box won’t be the only thing heavier when you leave Langara Fishing Lodge.
